If you have been convicted at trial, you have the right to appeal your sentence and/or conviction. If you have been convicted by plea, you can still file an appeal requesting that the appellate court review your plea-based conviction. Appellate practice is a specialty and the stakes on appeals are exceptionally high. Appeals demand exceptional written and oral advocacy at the highest levels of the profession.
